One of my best memories as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Panama was our first fish (tilapia) harvest from one of the farms. Browsing through my photos I found this photo-my host uncle also my counter part puts a fish into the basket to sell. The aquaculture project not only serve as a means of income for the farmers, helping to alleviate poverty and increasing opportunities available to the farmers, but also provide a community-based knowledge of small business planning, farm management, leadership and team building as well as provide a good source of protein to the direct beneficiaries and the greater community.
